Note About Our Grand Opening
I cannot even begin to express my gratitude toward all of our students, parents,
friends and family who participated, helped, or just showed up to support us!!
We have an amazing dojo family!!
We had an incredible demo on Friday! It was very well done!! I’m at the dojo every day and I thought it was very cool to watch. I can’t imagine what other people thought. Thank you to all who participated in the demo!! Many thanks to the parents as well for taking those in school out for a short time to participate! Senpai Scott did a wonderful job at the microphone! He and his wife, Joi, were also instrumental in many behind the scenes preparation for the weekend. They were very successful in obtaining many of the donations we received. Also a big thank you to Sensei Nick & Sensei Saeed who drove fromLas Vegas to help with the demo!
Then we did the official ribbon cutting with help from the Sandy Chamber. Sensei
Marius cut the ribbon with a very cool and very sharp sword which was fun for everyone
to see. It would have been even better if the ribbon would have been tight! Ha!
We had a beautiful cake delivered by Sam’s Club, bagels from Einstein’s and
some light refreshments.
On Saturday we had two seminars taught by Hanshi Madani who flew in for only a few
hours. We really appreciate all the support we receive from IMA Headquarters in
Colorado and from other members of the IMA organization. Thank you Sensei McGavin and Jennifer for the beautiful flowers! We ended the event with a wonderful BBQ lunch specially prepared by Senpais Mr. Heise and Ken! Thank you SO much for cooking!! It was fun to have a BBQ right in front of the building!
We held a silent auction on Friday and some with no bids carried over into
Saturday. We also had a raffle on Saturday.
I’d like to thank everyone who donated items toward our silent auction and raffle!
