Senpai Christian Buehler

2nd Degree Black Belt
Christian Gerhard Buehler was born on November 19th, 1980, in Somerville, New Jersey. Christian began studying Karate-Do in 1998 during highschool under the tutelage of Shihan Michael Berger, but was forced to quit due to a demanding schedule at the University of Utah in early 2000. In 2004 Christian competed as a brown belt in the Utah Open Karate tournament, winning a silver medal in kata and a Bronze medal in kumite, he then improved in the following 2005 Utah Open to a gold medal in kata and a silver in kumite.
Christian continued to place a high importance on his college education, and graduated in 2005 from the University of Utah with a B.A. in Art History. In July of 2007 Christian earned his shodan ranking during a test administered by Michael Berger and Marius Gilca.
In continuing his martial arts education Christian has attended various seminars and short term classes taught by a wide range of Karateka from different schools, including but not limited to: Catalin Neagu(Shotokan-ryu), Cyrus Madani(Shotokan-ryu), Masafumi Shiomitsu(Wado-ryu), Doug Jepperson(Wado-ryu), Bob Nash(Wado-ryu dan), Takayuki Kubota(Gosoku-ryu) and Michael Berger (Gosoku-ryu).
